and the catch in the monthly price.
Typeless advertises Pro at $12 a month. That is the yearly price. Paying month to month costs $30, two and a half times as much. Here is what the free plan and Pro include, and what each adds up to over a year.

Monthly billing costs 150% more
$12 a month only applies if you pay $144 for a year up front. Month to month, Pro is $30, or $360 over a year. Most dictation apps charge about 20% extra for monthly billing; Typeless charges 150% extra, so trying Pro for a month or two is expensive.
What the free plan includes
Free gets most of the features: turning rambling speech into clear writing, translation, a personal dictionary and per-app tone. It is limited by a weekly word count and by "standard" rather than "enhanced" accuracy. Typeless does not print the word limit on its pricing page; it resets every week.
Why it is metered
Typeless transcribes and rewrites in the cloud. Each word you speak is processed on its servers, which is why free use is capped and why it needs a connection.
A free option that runs on your Mac
If you want dictation without the subscription, TypeAloud transcribes on your Mac with no word limit and no account. It does not rewrite your speech; it is free and open source.
